Rain Gutter on the 'A' Pillar

Hello Everyone,
I need to repair/replace the rain gutter on the 'A' Pillar on the N/S, as I have some rust coming through now a hole!!
The rain gutter appears to be pop riveted on. The O/S seems the same; and the pictures of the part appear to have a number of holes.
Has anyone carried out this repair/replacement?
If so, can you share what's involved?
Is it a matter of drilling out the old pop rivets, then pop riveting a new one on (after rust proofing etc.)?
Any help gratefully accepted.

That's about the strength of it Frank. The only downside is what you find when the gutter is off

If you need new gutters, then the SOCTFL ones are better than pattern ones.

Hi Frank, if your front wing is original, the bottom of the gutter will be brazed to it, there's likely to be ancient mastic trying to keep it on. Drill very carefully to the correct size and use the recommended rivets, there are some out there that protrude far too much, there'll also be paint damage where it touches the A pillar, easy enough to fix if you're ready for it. I fitted SOCTFL parts when I did mine and they fitted well. It can be a challenge to drill the holes in the new gutter so they align with the old ones in the A pillar. Also, when you fit the gutter, put some sealant under it so the rainwater is more likely to go down the gutter rather than between it and the A post.
