    b post chrome trim

    Hi all,
My car is missing the trim on the rear of both the B posts. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, does anybody have a part number before I order them, many thanks

If that's the parts you need, I would try to get a good second hand pair, I bought a new pair off a reputable dealer and to be honest the fit was very poor, I put my old ones back on.

I may be wrong but I think these were only fitted a while after Stag production started. They certainly look like a bit of an afterthought.

So, why am I mentioning this ? Well, if I'm right, it may just be that Triumph started fitting them only because owners were damaging the plastic trim on the B post. If this right then we, as far more conscientous and savvy owners, can probably avoid such damage by being careful when we raise the hood.

This being the case, you probably don't really NEED to have the protectors fitted.

            I stand to be corrected

            Cheers

I'm suprised you are standing at all after all that lying down you've been doing under your car..
Have another cup of coffee and get back under there you have work to do and springs to stop boinging...

                Morning Sam

I think my boinging is sorted but car's still up in the air and I'll soon reveal my latest new Stag invention

Now for a coffee, taxi run and then back under the car

                Cheers

These were fitted to prevent damage when fitting the hard top. If you only use the soft top then you don't need them.

Ah well, I was pretty close then

I wonder if the few, soft top only, early cars didn't have them then

                    Cheers

                      Hi J,

According to the Stag 'bible', Page 47:

"......In addition there is a stainless steel trim guard plate held by 4 (3!) screws on the trailing edge of the pillar. Early cars have a short trim guard plate; later cars have one which covers the full length of the lower B-pillar; and some cars had no plate at all. Unfortunately, it is not clear when the specification changes were made."

I have ragged holes in the upholstery that need covering up! The PO had stuffed pieces of chrome over theholes above the short plates that are there (1971 car), and it all looks a bit tatty.

You said that you were coming over in the summer Tanya, perhaps we could source some for you while you are here. By the way is it you that keeps sending me E.mails from The Canadian Pharmacy?

I've ordered some now, so we'll see how they fit, and if they don't work out I'll be on the hunt for stuff when we come over in October.

I don't think I'm not sending you stuff from the Canadian Pharmacy (not intentionally anyway); I didn't know they existed. Is it good stuff?
                            Cheers
