Things that make you go DOH!

11 am yesterday thought it was time to catch up with some jobs on the Stag, with an MOT coming up in July, so got going on doing both front strut inserts, rebush the anti roll bar and new drop links, D bushes on the drag links, repack the front wheel bearings with fresh grease and new steering rack gaiters.

All was going great until 4.00 when after completing the NS in it's entirety, and reassembled the OS apart from refitting the track rod end to the arm just so I could swing the hub round and give the bolts a final torqueing up at the bottom of the leg when one of the 3/8" unf bolts snapped off in the hub carrier

As I was going out last night all I could do was swear - a lot.

Guess what I'm going to be doing today.....

Just when you think you are getting to the end of a successful and productive day, you get an unwanted slap in the face...........

It must be our masochistic side that keeps us coming back for more....................

Hope you get the remains out easily.

Kryten - I do have to say - that for all the chaos (and expense - as just one example - after 18 months and a £500+ bill it looks like I might get my servo back next month) my car inflicts upon me every now and then - that this is one of those occasions when I really do not want you to reject my own reality and substitute it with yours!

Good luck getting the broken bit out today.

        Adrian.

Hub is back off and just going on the bench. .. let battle commence. .

Adrian, I wish you nothing but good fortune with yours - may the force, rather than farce, be with you!

Well..... something else had to happen. ... got a pinhole in a corroded trans cooler pipe (the cooler itself) - must have happened when I was budging the anti roll bar u bolt back in, and dumped a couple of litres of box oil on the drive before I saw what was going on.

Whizzed the cooler off and managed to clean it up enough to solder it up, so I'm mobile again, but in need of another cooler - anyone got a reasonable one they want to sell me?
