mk 1 and mk 2 fans

hi can anybody tell me what is needed to fit a mk 2 fan etc to a mk 1 engine.i will be fitting a mk 1 engine to my car soon but also have a mk 2 to refurbish sometime and wondered if there was any advantage in fitting the mk 2 viscous coupling and fan and what it entailed. thanks brian

Not much. I did it with a Mk 1 to Mk 2 conversion kit from Rimmers.

thanks tanya i have the fan,coupling and p.a.s.pulley so i am assuming it could be a straight swap.Both engines at work at the moment so may get chance to have a look at them on saturday.
