    Carburetor rod length

    Hi all
I have just received a set of new carburetor linkage rods and ball joints. I know one is adjustable in length but but do the screw on ball joints on the fixed rod have to be set at a certain length. I have looked in the Haynes manual and no mention is made of this. As always help is much appreciated.

Hiya, in short, yes. To set up the rods, you do the adjustable one first, then alter the ends of the other one so that at idle, it doesn't cause a speed change. I'm pretty sure the Haynes manual describes it. Martin.
