Thanks for the replies guys, and so many of them! The vaccum advance was the one I was looking for.
I have added a bit of Grumpy2's threads. Difficult to add it all because it spans several threads! Definitely a 'triumph' for the for the forum though!
It isn't the first time today someone has accused me of memory loss, I had the same thing said to me at work today!!!

I've now got to do the ironing and hope I haven't ruined all my work shirts - I managed to wash them with my oily mechanicing T shirt
