Top 10 Survivors

It is unclear if the list relates to total production or home market cars. I bet the TR6, for example, would be high on this list, if it showed UK registered cars only, and if the TR250 is included with the TR5 the rate might be different.
The % really only make sense if you know the total numbers involved. 20% could be one survivor out of five made or 20000 out of 100000.Ross. Perth WA.

The figures don't match - here are the Stags "statistics" on HonestJohn
Triumph Stag
1970-1977
25,877 built, 3321 taxed, 3145 SORN'd, survival rate - 25.0%
I think 25,877 was (about) the total production.
According to Rimmers figures, Home Market production 17,819; Export 8,120; Total 25,939. Interesting that there are about 60 Stags missing from some-ones figures!
So, HonestJohn is comparing UK survivals with total production; not a statisitic at all. As Stocky says, we really need to see either UK survivors vs UK registrations (36.3%, which still just leaves us 2nd), or include overseas survivors, although I guess that number would be almost impossible to get hold of.
Quite intrigued that almost half the current UK Stags are SORN - GET USING THEM, FOLKS!!!!!'72 Manual O/d Saffron Yellow

Fairly surprising but I guess Stockys got a good point. Have to say I am a huge TR5 fan which has always been fairly rare, but I see more of them about than the Daimler SP250.
Nice Magenta Stag in "our" picture - I thought for a few seconds it was mine but then saw the door mirror

All interesting stuff. I wonder if any US Spec Triumph 250's are registered in the UK as TR5's bumping up the figure.
Either way - Two Triumphs in the top 10 and the Stag second. That 'aint bad!
Shame it's just missed the cut for next months Forum article! I will try and remember it for the following month.

A bit of further research. For the last 5 years, we have had around 4500 to 4700 Licensed, and 2000 to 2500 SORN each summer, and in the winter, around 3500 Licensed and 3200 to 3500 SORN. So, about 1000 to 1200 Stags only Licensed for the summer each year. It makes a big difference as to which quarter the figures are extracted from.'72 Manual O/d Saffron Yellow
