Loved the bit with the chap spraying a car without wearing a mask, 18 1/2 minutes in.
My dad worked for a large haulage contractor and their sprayer, in the seventies, may occasionally have worn a rag tied round his head as a mask, but not often.
He had a decidedly grey palour and if he wasn't painting he was smoking unfiltered Woodbines. Good sprayer but a touch intolerant if I recall correctly. Did all the signwriting by hand, including laying on a leaping Stag in gold leaf which was the parent companies logo. Busy man, the company had hundreds of vehicles and that poor sod did them all
Made 'em tough in those days.
John.
Really great Peter, seen bits of it before but not the whole thing..
Loved the bit with the Stag engine blocks and on the test bed..
Bet the bloke had fun with the Stag in the Alps on all that snow.Never the best for grip on icy stuff..
I wonder why (near the end) the Stag had its spare wheel boot mounted..was there a gas conversion tank in there do you think ??
Loved it - they don't make them like that any more!
Mind you, looking at the first of my Stag brochure (1970) RRW 97H has red seats, carpet and door cards in the photos in Monaco; in the second (1972) RRW 97H with a bit of airbrushing has become RRW 97L with a brown interior but is obviously the same pictures shoot from the original brochure! Yet on the film the car appears to have a brown interior. Has the film faded or was the red interior airbrushed onto RRW97H - what does the team think?
