All hoses are silicone hopeful last ones ill buy. Been trying to wash the grime of the inner wings as I want to try and give them a lick of paint . got some bling to fit cam covers etc. just glued the gaskets on to the covers (silicone ) will fit tomorrow .im going to fit a mk2 power steering pump as the early mk1 is leaking they look the same anyone know if pump volume is the same as well ? want to try and paint up any black parts this weekend and hopefully get it out for a run still got to plumb in the capillary for the temp gauge when I can find a hole in firewall or make one.steve

That's interesting Stagmuffin, your bonnet release cable goes to the off-side, mine goes to the nearside and comes out under the glovebox (and so is a struggle to operate from the driver's seat). Presumable a Mk1/Mk2 difference I wasn't aware of?

Hi Steve,
Introducing myself as I'll soon be moving to Leighton Buzzard, fingers crossed exchange/completion goes as planned to be there by 1st week in June- How far from you in Beds? The house has a 12m x 6m Garage/Barn so my resto will soon get under way properly having stalled for a few years. Can't wait to get cracking on it. Wife said she's already dreading the hours I'll be spending in there so going to get me a bed and a man-fridge in there !!
Probably go to silicone hoses myself when I get to that point. Modern looking in shiney blue does look good in the engine bay but has anyone had experience of using the silicones now available in black so keeps it looking retro? Presume same quality/benefits.
Ray

Hmmm, I like the sound of two bonnet releases. God knows how you get it open if the original one snaps. But it's like those good people that have a temp sensor in each head - the more you bow to the paranoia, the worse it gets!

So my Holley came with an air filter that collects all the hot air from above the engine.
Whilst I have not had a problem, I cannot help but feel the car would run better if it had some colder denser air to consume.
Is there such a thing that can fit to the top of the Holley which would allow me to use a remote air filter?

hi 4x4 if you look closely you will see a 25mm ally spacer fitted this helps but I have a 25mm phenolic block to fit which I couldn't find at the time but found it after I fitted the other one ! that's how it goes. thanks
