Just watched the documentary about the great man, great music, quite touching, I was in the "Big O" fan club when I was 18, now 67. Nostalgia is a terrible thing !

Martin - I don't always agree with what you say, but in my opinion Roy Orbison had a truly great and unique voice and recorded some great records. One of my favourite Cds and Dvds is of the "Travelling Wilburys" where he teamed up with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and others, and died during the recording of the song "It's All Right" (or was it called "End of the Line") which the rest of the members decided to finish regardless.
"The Making of the Travelling Wilburys" Dvd tells the story of the formation of the group and the making of the Traveling Wilburys CD, and how they decided to finish the track referred to and shows Roy Orbison's guitar alone on a rocking chair whilst they were finishing the recording off - very poignant and moving.
As well as a number of old 45's I also have a couple of Roy Orbison Album cassettes which I like to play now and again, including in the Stag. By the way I am older than you - but don't yet feel my age.
