Tatton Park Traffic Chaos

I set off today (Sunday) with wife in her car for Tatton Park from Shropshire, made good time to get within a few miles from Tatton Park - 1 1/2 hours, but then spent 40 minutes travelling about a quarter of a mile. Cars were turning around and one of the drivers told me it was still 3 miles to go and so we headed for a pub for lunch. When we finished lunch the queue was still the same and the show finished at 4.30pm, it was already 1.30pm, and so we headed home via Nantwich.

Either there was a huge volume of cars that they did not expect or they ran out of parking space or they were completely disorganised. I went to tatton Park 2 years ago and the traffic was fine. Did anyone make it OK or did you queue for hours to get in? I don't think I will be going back in a hurry!

Went yesterday. I think the issue is the weather, for the last 3-4 years the weather has been dreadful and the chance to get there in the dry and sunshine brings everyone and their dog out for a lovely day.

Hi mark,
I went on Saturday and drove straight in at 10.30. It was busy in the show but no problems. It also seemed well organised for parking so I can oh think the same as Gary that the weather brought the crowds out!

Sounds like I should have gone on Saturday or got up earlier! I was originally planning on going Saturday but started de-rusting the tonneau seal channel and it ended up as quite a big job - still in progress.
