My Stag is a late Mk 1 (US Federal LHD). It is equipped with a standard Mk 1 radiator with filler neck and pressure cap. However, the overflow bottle is a Mk 2 type with a pressure cap. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether both the overflow bottle and the radiator filler neck should have pressure caps of same weight or should the overflow bottle cap (as I have been advised) be replaced with a non-pressure release cap?

Hi fellow Canuck
Can't answer that definitively as my MK 1 had a Mk2 rad so i converted everything to a Mk 2 cooling system. The front of my car was in a fender bender so there are a lot of Mk 2 goodies in the front from some blue spare's car.
Hopefully the forum can help with thse hybrid cooling systems
Cheers
