Sold mine the day after I bought the car. Bought the car to use as a ragtop, not a tin top, and it is used all year round, all weathers, hood down if it aint raining (too hard, I have a cap for light rain).
Haven't the room to store one anyway.

106.jpg Even put the hood down when I drove off after that pic.

      On the J reg Stag I had before (over 20 years ago) the current one I had a hard top which I never used so sold it;
For this one I had a new soft top fitted year before last and last year decided to buy a hard top for it to prolong its life in the winter months - my car is carmine and the HT I bought is I think Mallard or something like it; Its been on twice and off twice, hangs from the garage roof and having taken it off this last weekend following the engine re-build all I have seen is cloud and rain!
I think it would add value if ever I sold the car which I won't so it's all largely irrelevant but I do like it in the winter, it adds some comfort and what I really like is it adds extra light during the long dark months to an otherwise quite dark interior.
So, i'd keep it unless you really need £300/£400......for a really good one....
One day I may even have mine painted to match but my wife seems to think it looks quite good in the present colour....

      Cheers!

I'm not sure I would ever risk putting a hardtop near mine. I have heard horror stories of trapped fingers and fall outs with helping wives or husbands ( had to include Tanya too ) It does depend on the cars use. Mine will be a weekend bit if fun. Some use the car as a every day car.

Needed a pulley and some help and it'll probably stay up there until I leave the house in a box. BUT I couldn't get rid of it. Parts of the car's originality. And it was certainly different to drive with it on - the kids could see out of the sides (1971 no side plastic in ST). To know that I could drive it out of summer is worth a lot.
          Hi Chris,

From the looks of your avatar pic your roof must have been easy to remove, just undo the levers and it fell onto the ceiling.....

          i'll get me coat :-)

          kind regards

Loved my hardtop, on Bonfire night, off Easter.
Totally different driving experience but that was back in the 80's when used all year.
The only time the hardtop has been on in the last 23 years was when moving house!

I think that would be fall to the floor?

I've had a few comments on the picture and a few laughs off it. So shan't be turning it the right way up.

Richard as most say don't sell it as you will struggle to find another in such good condition.I put the hard top on my stag this year for the first time in twenty years and it was like driveing a totally different car(in a nice way) why not give it a try at the end of the summer this year, just my experience
                All the best
