Hi Stagdad....
It wasn't so much a question of what is top or 'best' from the 21 chosen...they simply feature their favourite 21....It leads with:
'Summer's nearly here and you need a convertible to make the most of it. Whether your top priority is style, speed,or space for you and the kids, look no further. We've got the best topless options for you.....'
Ferrari Mondial 1983 - 1992 Value £18 - £28K

Mazda MX5 - 1990 - 1997 Value £2.5 - £5.5K

Alfa Romeo Spider 1966 - 1993 Value £3.25 - £10.5K

Quite a broad range .....I would have thought given the foreword that the Stag would fit in very well.... But maybe I'm just biased....

I think I'd dispute
MGF 1995 - 2002 Value £2 - 4.5K
Porsche 911 Cabriolet 1983 - 1998 Value £12 - £28K
Ford Zephyr 1956 - 1962 Value £5.5 - £10.5K
BMW Z1 1986 - 1991 Value £11 - £18K
Mazda MX5 - 1990 - 1997 Value £2.5 - £5.5K
...all naff in my (not so humble) opinion, expecially the first and last of these. Unless you're a hairdresser. (...waits for the torrent of abuse... :?)

The thing is you don't have to chose with a Stag it s got all threethat's why it's not on the list.
The list is for cars that only forefill one of these.

They've missed outa whole market sector of early/mid 70s boulevard cruisers, the best examples of which in my opinion were:
Triumph Stag (of course)
Mercedes 350/450/500SL
Peugoet 504 Pininfarina

I don't think a hairdresser would own an MX5, the hairdresser's assistant would own one! (quote Anne Robinson /Top gear)
Did Lotus ever win their case against Mazda for blatant copying of the 60's Elan?:P
