        mine is also a 1978 (9th may )chassis no LD/4521A
        MK 2 1977 FLAMENCO RED ,WEBER ,BELT DRIVEN WATER PUMP.

          alan_thomas on the Forum has the next to last off the prodution line.



          Don't know about the oldest though. LD1 was on the club Stand at Bromley so presumably the owner is in the SOC but I don't know if he uses the Forum.

            LD1 belongs to Steve Kiefer, club insurance officer and South East Region Co-ordinator. But there are some pre production cars around with a 'G' plate.

                  April 1971 , assembly no LD1068 (I think from memory) but the bodyshell is much earlier as it is no. 792.

                  So I have probably the oldest rust on here so far:shock:

                      Maybe newest? Hate to be competitive here but I think mine's June 78 LD45693A and I think the last was LD45792ish - whichever it was I believe mine's 99th from the end of line. It must have stood in a car park or showroom for quite a while.

                        Alan Thomas has LD45721. The last was LD45722 and is at the Heritage Motor Centre.

                          that means that yours must have sat in the show room for over a year, at least it didn't over heat during that time

                            According to the Heritage Trust LD/3544-0

                            Built 5 October 1971

                            Dispatched 4 November 1971 to Tourist Trophy Garage Farnham Surrey.

                            Registered 23 November 1971

                            Does the L D number look right ??
