    Borg Warner 35 Gearbox Rebuild

I have just picked the car up from Gloucester Road Gearboxes where it had its type 35 gearbox completely overhauled and rebuild together with a new torque converter, the car is like brand new, really silky smooth gear change. I can thoroughly recommend anyone using them, they still have the expertise and skills for these older transmissions. I thought long and hard about converting it to a ZF 4speed, but the engine and transmission numbers all tie up to when the car was first produced in 1972, it would have been a shame to have lost that originality. No more spending on the car for a while!!! well maybe on the interior and .......

I did the same. My BW 35 recieves an rebuild now. I needed another gearbox to make one good. I hope to recieve my car back in 2 weeks. I tought about to upgrade to an BW 65 but then you need to change a lot more. So i stick to my BW 35 like you. It costs a lot but now i know that piece of the car is ok.

    Happy motoring with your car.

I love these old slushboxes. Mine has its foibles, but I don't think it needs a rebuild just yet. Works a lot better once it is hot, I will admit.
