Been out for a decent run this evening, couldn't resist the warm night. 5 mins after parking up I noticed a small puddle of fluid under the front of the car. The bl**dy steering rack is leaking again, only had a recon unit fitted last July and its done about 1500 miles. Seems to be coming from the centre where the rack appears to screw together. Is there an O ring in this joint and is it relatively easy to replace as I think I will do it myself this time. Cheers Steve.

To the best of my knowledge there is no oil seal at that point but maybe it is coming from one of the hoses and spraying around a bit...?

Thanks for your offer Mike its appreciated but I have checked the hydraulic pipes and they are dry and so they should be as I renewed them when the rack was done. The fluid is definitely coming from around the centre of the rack but interestingly, the steering has got much more Stag like since it started leaking? Cheers SteveComment

Just another thought then, could it be one of the pipes that feed into the centre under the sump?
They are very susceptible to getting bent when an engine is removed - I know as I did it but it's very difficult to tighten with the rack in place..
