    Tempting ...

I was just having a look on the bay and come across this

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151063708585?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p398 4.m1423.l2649

I'm half tempted to have a bid on it as its the same as the one i had when i was 19 but I really want another Stag.

I can not see that having a Stag excludes having a 2500S

Beautiful car! I long for a 2.5PI Estate...

Definately not. I've had big saloons (2000/2500S PIs, estates too) since 1974 and the Stag since 1987. Still have the Stag and a 'few' big saloons. They complement each other nicely as the current PI is used in place of the Stag when there's a chance of rain!

      Cheers,
      Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

There was a resto project 2500S estate that went for well under £1k on the bay this weekend !!! I've deleted it out of my watched items now.

I have fond memories of my Dads mk2 2000 when I was a kid - it had a full Webasto roof and i used to stand on the back seat with my head out of the roof! Imagine being able to do that now days !

I also like the Rover P6 V8's the 3500 auto and the 3500S manual

Go for it! as Mike says the big saloons compliment the Stag nicely, I also have a Mk1 2000 saloon and a Mk2 2.5 PI Estate. The stuff it has carted about in the 11 years of my ownership is unbelievable!!

Darren, to sell one Stag could be bad luck but to have owned and sold the number you have is careless

I drove to the Dordogne and back with 4 friends around 1976 in a R reg' 2500s estate - absolutely wonderful car, superb sound from that engine and pulled from 1000 in o/d top all the way without a murmur much like the Stag does now.
              I had 2 auto 3500's too and an SD1 V8 - all brilliant cars, SD was a bit badly built but it made up for that with the wonderful V8 engine and handling;
I'd love to have another but preferably a 3500S with a full length webasto - a great everyday car, if you can live with 20mpg!

And nice it is too, having seen it and met Brian at a few shows!

Way back when I was working with Mainframe Computers, all the senior ICL Sales reps I met opted for a Triumph 2.5PI Saloon in white as their choice of Company Car, and I used to get chauferred round in them when being shown some new equipment that was just coming onto the market. A very nice and very quick car.

The 'fuzz' had some pretty quick dark blue ones I remember too - they made a wonderful sound!
