    What goes here?, and here?

I dont recall anything being fitted in these places, but best to ask.
First picture is under the dash to the right of the steering column, looks like something was here once as the vinyl is indented. Maybe a gun rack or something?

This one is under the gearbox housing, the two captive nuts in the middle, what is used to blank these off, (unless of course I have something really important missing!

    Cheers!

Though mine is a MK2, I have had the car for over 20 years, though its possible somebody changed the dash at an earlier stage in its life?, cannot envisage why anybody would need to change the dash though?
It certainly looks like something was fitted by the depressions.

        Hiya Pete,

the one under the dash is not a standard fitment. The captive nuts you are viewing from underneath are for a metal loop that supported the middle of the dash on some of the very early cars (And possibly yhe american ones?). The nuts remained on the body throughout and were unused for the vast majority of cars.

Mine weren't blanked off at all. I used a couple of bolts and spring washers to fill the holes, I can't remember the exact size but I recall them as UNC. They are used in the air con cars to locate two brackets that support the air con unit.
