Matching Green Car Festival

Is anyone else from Essex area going to this annual event this Sunday?

Seems we have a horse event free weekend so all being well boy and I will be there in the late morning/early afternoon..

It's always a good show with a lot of different vehicles there;

Maybe see a few other's there too - the weatherman says it will be very hot (we've heard it before but he just nay be right this time!)

After a 100 mile run today I've now found the LH manifold middle gasket has blown and the RH is on its way - cannot believe it as the last ones I fitted lasted 10 years with no sign of a blow - bloody cheap parts I think made in North Korea or somewhere useless!
So, I'm tempted to take them our altogether and run it naked to see if the seal will be ok - Tubular manifolds though so probably not!
Hey ho - just another little problem to sort out.

Does anyone else have any experiences with duff exhaust manifold gaskets?

I see LD don't even sell them so just maybe there is a lesson here...?

Manifold fixed. albeit bodged with cooking foil and gasket cement - One of those jobs I didn't do which now paying the price for was to helicoil the top ex' manifold bolt holes,. the reason I now have a blown gasket being a partially stripped thead!
Surprisingly even though I replaced all the bolts i'm not convinced of the hardness of the threads on the new bolts having now removed a couple, I may seek some better quality ones for when I do the job properly, eventually.

End result is will be going to show after all - looking forward to getting properly cooked!

It was a good day wasn't it a pity we had to jump ship so early on but boy was fading fast - seriously hot but proof I have no overheating problems i'm glad to say!
