    Replacement T-Bar Lens

When my current t-bar courtesy lamp lens on my late model Mk2 Stag disintegrated, I ordered a replacement from Paddocks,
but what I received is a different design catering only for only 2 contacts when mine has 3 connecting wires (see diagram).
Paddocks only seem to have the 2 point type, and I can't see a 3 point one in Rimmers catalogue, or in the LD Parts list.
Does anyone know where I might get one?

    Hi Terry,

The brothers only list one lens part number 159983 and they have the following comment below the listing:

MK1's were fitted with 2 (upper) "B" post lamps. MK2's have 1 lamp, fitted in centre of "T" bar. Both lamps use the same lenses, bulbs, screws etc, and are operated by a rocker switch located on the centre console, and / or by the door courtesy switch.

I've never taken my Mk2 lens off to look inside, so can't compare it with what you have posted.

I'm afraid this won't help you Terry but I'd confirm that later cars - possibly post LD40000 had a different wiring system for the interior lights with single contact DTE (drop to earth) door switches.

The wiring arrangement is, to my mind, slightly bizarre insofar as the positive feed is taken directly to the T bar light Via A BLACK WIRE !! and then through the two bulbs and off to the interior light switch (which provides an earth when it is switched on or directs the current to the door switches when off)

I know of no other place where a black wire is a positive feed.

Having said that, I'm surprised that the cover isn't the same shape as the earlier ones. Why not try Just Triumph or one of the breakers ?

      Cheers

      Julian

Not sure if this helps, but I found that the contacts don't fit into the replacement lenses and some judicious shaving of plastic webs has to be done.

Drew - the Lens shown in your pic is identical to mine exactly and what I am looking for. It is just a matter of finding one somewhere.

I picked mine up in March 2011 from Robsport at Stoneleigh. £11.
