Engine fan how should it work?

    hello

been using the stag a fair bit over 1000 miles so far and all is well,

went up on the moors the other day temp went up to just over half but its was very hot and lots of long slow hills.

i looked and the engine fan the other day and when it was hot it seemed very easy to turn? is this right?

and whats the general done thing? replace engine fan with electric one? or have both?

    Thanks
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
Temp doesn't seem too bad, considering the heat we've just had,
having said that, when my viscous coupling wasn't working, the fan was easy to spin when hot, without much resistance, I therefore replaced it with a new one from Bob from Brighton, it now works really well, and yes it is harder to spin when the engine is hot.
I also noticed my back up fan, a Pacet mounted in front of the radiator, comes on less often, which re-assures me that the viscous fan is doing its job.
    Hope this is useful.
    Regards Ken.
