    Hood for sale on ebay

    Hi All.

I am looking at a hood and frame for sale on ebay. The description sounds ok but I need to check something with the learned people on here please.

Are all Stag hood frames the same? I am not sure but do not really know. The seller is suggesting that they are in the statement ' This hood is for stags of all years 1970-77 ' They may be correct but I just don't know.

My hood frame is all bent and does not fold away well. The hood itself is past its sell by also and I am hoping this may be a better way to go.

    Many thanks for any advice.

Well that's a perfectly good answer. Thank you for pointing that out Ian. hehehehehehe

Sorry Vmad. I intended no slight I did not realise it was you.

I did not know if all hood frames were the same.

Suffice it to say I can trust this seller.

        Hi Paul
The Mk 2 frame will fit a Mk1 car.
The main difference is the Mk1 early cars had side windows which cracked very quickly so BL changed to no side widows.
There were a few mechanism differences on the early ones but it will fit ok..

As Ian says Chris is on here and will gladly respond to you I'm sure..

As a real anorak wasn't there also a difference in the locating lugs of the locking handles (pointed v squared off)? Obviously makes no difference in operation.

I thought I covered that under mechanisms Paul, but obviously not..

I'm going to buy you interchangeable coloured hoods for that anorak of yours..
Do you want them with or without side windows..?

As you well know Sam us anoraks cannot assimilate the looseness of terminology such as "mechanisms", we have to be precise

              Mk1 please
