    Phospher Bronze release bearing carrier.

Does anyone know what benefits this item would have on the clutch operation.

In theory it's probably going to work better than steel in this application. Phosphor bronze has good wear resistance and a very fine grain structure (among other useful properties).
It gets used in springs, sleeve bearings (pretty much our application here), thrust washers and cam followers.
In short - it's a good sliding bearing material - but would be rubbish in roller bearings as it's too soft.

All things being equal, I'd have thought this is a good idea.
But whether you need it enough to spend £50 on it is another matter.
That said, if it's the difference between clutch judder, or not - I'd have said it's good value for money!

    Hope this helps.

    Adrian.

That won't fit the Stag. Too short.

Looking at it again, yes you can see that.
You would have thought the person selling it would know that as well..
