    Stagweber Header Tank

This is probably an old chestnut , but my Stag has one fitted and the buzzer is driving me mad so I have had to disconnect it . I have sent them an Email yesterday but no reply yet. I spoke to someone else who has one and he has disconnected his as well which defeats the object of having the warning buzzer . Is there any thing I can do to get it working correctly. My tank is a constant 5/8 full and every time I brake or go round corners the buzzer sounds Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
    Regards Derek

you could try putting a washer under the mounting bracket,to tilt the tank water is sloshing around in the tank

That's what water does Dave - it sloshes around.

as the water sloshes around the switch operates,i think the tank does not have a baffle inside,as tilting the tank may help to stop the fase operation of the switch

Not a Stagweber tank but I fitted a delay unit to my low level sensor . I used a unit from a Rover SD1 that was originally for the fuel warning light. Same one is on a TR7 I believe.

Don't get that problem with my Volvo tank. It has several baffles built in.

I have a Weber header tank and it's the best investment I've made in the Stag.
When I start the car from cold and move off my drive, which is on a slope, the buzzer beeps but stops when I reach level ground. This is good because I know the buzzer works and I have a level in the header tank.
I can't understand why the buzzer should be disconnected if you've gone through the trouble to fit a header tank with buzzer. It exists to tell you that you may have a problem causing coolant loss so reconnect it and add coolant as necessary before you experience bigger problems.
No connection other than a very satisfied customer.

Same with the Merc tank. Sounds like a bigger coke can is needed.

My daughters boyfriend a Mechanical Engineer suggested some low density foam the same they put in motorcycle fuel tanks to stop the fluid sloshing about . I am surprised they do not have baffles in the tank. I will persevere and top the tank to the brim and let it find its own level. I now realize it may be a bit low after fitting a new water pump so may be a little random till I get all the air out of the system.

I get the occasional beep from mine but I find this reassuring as it reminds me that the system is functioning. Only happens under hard cornering, heavy braking or something like speed bumps

Agree with your comments re lack of baffles. I would be very wary of adding any foam to the system as it will jam up the float and may break up and spread through the system. It probably will stay in place in a gravity fed fuel tank but the Stagweber tank is plumbed so that water is pumped through the tank which would tend to break up the foam.

I don't get this problem with a Merc tank. Does anyone know if the Wards tank has baffles? I thought the weber tank would have them!!
perhaps a mk2 version will be available soon
