    Martin,

    If you are going to move the Lumenition module, you may as well shift it inside the car. Keith has shown one option. My choice was to mount it near the relay panel. Either way, you won't have to cut the insulation pad.

      Hate to say it again, but try yet another coil. Just swap the old (cold) one in soon as the fault appears, and it will prove it either way.
      Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

        Ian I will check again, but it's seems only to play up when it gets hot, or seems that way, electrickery is not my strenght

        Thanks for the help, need to get it sorted for next weekend as driving down the drive at Helmingham as avatar, taken my Brother inlaw who's terminally ill, don't want to break down going down the drive.

            It might also be worth temporarily swapping the luminition module for a known good one to see if that helps. It isn't unheard of for these to pack up, although I haven't heard of one giving up on here for quite some time.

              Just looking at the "blue" crimp connection on the coil it doesn't look like its been crimped properly, just a shot in the Lucas dark.

                Another thought - the Lumenition module inside the distributor can also become heat - sensitive. You can get replacements.
                Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

                    Took her for a run yesterday , did not miss a beat, came back & soldered on 2 new connectors on the coil, still looking for problem will have another go with the meter this week.
