Hi Guys
New to forum any help please, recently serviced my Stag before MOT, MK2 1976. Oil and filter change, coolant flush changed thermostat, refilled fresh antifreeze, at the same time I replaced the temperature sender and voltage stabilizer as the fuel gauge was erratic and the temp gauge was only just moving off the stop, on checking the voltage from the stabilizer it was erratic to say the least now stable at 10v fuel gauge stable and temperature gauge now moves off the stop, over to nearly in the red !!!
, there seems to be various threads about thermostats and the position in the body.
My question is since replacing the stat the temp gauge is now approaching the red segment
after running for maybe 5-10 mins have I put it in wrong or could it be faulty ? would the high running temperature cause the CO2 emissions failure, help please.
Chris thanks for the reply but it HAS failed tested at same garage as last year when it flew through, I still think the problem is associated with the rise in temperatures since I changed the stat ??
