    One year on

It was about this time last year that I completed the 20+ year rebuild just in time for the Stag to be used at our eldest son's wedding on 27th July. It was therefore time for another MoT and I'm glad to say that it passed yesterday without any advisories. Nice. And it's done nearly 600 miles since last year.. Cor.

Another year to relax and enjoy the driving and of course next year it will (should) become 'Tax exempt'.

    Cheers,
    Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

I came into work in the Stag today and did enjoy the journey. With any luck the sun will be out for the trip home too!

      Cheers,
      Mike.

            Hi Joel,

Well, I think I started in Autumn 1991 and finally got its new MoT on 20th July 2013, so nearly 22 years! The main delay for me was the top coat. I did all the body work myself, filled and shaped it and sprayed it in etch primer. Then it sat for many years waiting for my neighbour to get around to doing the top coat in 2-pack. He then retired but as they were invited to the wedding I think his 'boss', (she who wears the trousers) suggested he got it sorted. He did, arranging for it to be finished at a local motor engineers who have the experience and low-bake oven. It's not a top notch, highest quality job, but very presentable and looks OK. I'm also not too worried about driving it - except when it's forecast to rain!

Good luck with yours. It can be a lot of heartache but well worth it when finished. If you're interested, the article about mine was in last Nov and Dec/Jan magazine. Beware though. There are pictures of me there too!

            Cheers,
            Mike.
