Am I correct in thinking that the TV8 motor had a cast iron block and alloy heads, whereas the RV8 has an alloy block and heads?? This is to settle a lighthearted, but getting more heated by the minute argument...

However - when the RV8 was originally being made in the US as a Buick engine, it did originally have a thin wall cast iron block. All US small blocks have these, it was a technology the Americans excelled at.
For whatever reason, Buick then tried to make it an ally block, never got that sorted, sold it to Rover, who successfully redeveloped it with the ally block.
