Just a thought Bruce..... when I re-shelled my father in laws MGB, I made my own "spit" out of scaffolding that I borrowed - it was very successful and stable and I was able to build it around the car.

The rotating pivot was 2 short pieces of scaffold welded to a couple of substantial bits of angle iron, which were then bolted to the bumper iron mounts, and it rotated in 2 scaffold clamps.....

Got any friends that are scaffolders?

Depends on how much you want to pay, they do a cheaper version. Could probably sell on afterwards. Personally just wary what shape the car would be after tilting, removing and replacing bits and plonking back on the ground.

          Hi Bruce,

Depends on how long you will need it for, Keith has one and may rent it out for a short time

          Cheers

            Hi Bruce

A goodsix months I suppose. I was planning on using if forpreping and and paintingthe underside of the shell and then whilst I fit brake pipes, fuel lines, suspension, electrics etc. All of which will be much easier if I can roll the shell over.

            Cheers

              Hi Kryten

Unfortunately not, but the idea of being underneath a home made struture like that sends a shiver down my spine. Probably comes from working in a heavy engineering environment and seeing what happens when lifting tackle breaks:shock:

              Cheers

Blimey, 800 quid when you throw in the adaptor plates. EXPENSIVE:shock:As you say, I could sell it on afterwards but it doesn't help the cashflow.

Looks a bit flimsy to me and you can't lock it from rotatiing.

I have a homemade one that you can have for free,if you pick it up from dorset.it needs some finishing but the frame is sound.I never actually used it.I have since bought a much better one.

I can take some pictures and send them to you if you like.

                      Cheers
