Cam covers - chrome effect powder coating

Has anyone had a pair of cam covers powder coated in chrome effect? if so, are you happy with the finish? where did you get it done?

    thanks

I think Steve (Scarts) has had his done. I have certainly seen a pair somewhere. They look pretty good. The only issue was that the cam cover screw grabbed the surface and wrinkled it a bit when it was tightened up. I'm sure that could be avoided with care though. I think Alan Davies did them (Stag157.7)

I had my Cam covers done in Chrome effect a few years back by a company in High Wycombe, they still look ok.

Maybe Sukh can remember the name of the company, if not and he is at work he can ask Mark, they are on the West Wycombe Road. I threw them a few bits to do at the same time, I think they charged me about £25 or £30's.

Watch out for the breather gauze and sandblasting. I'm working on making mine removable from the inside.

I've spoken with Sprayblast in High Wycombe, going to send cam covers & air filter housing down on Friday

                    Hi Ian
Ive had some powder coated chrome done by Ultimate Finish in Lincoln, the finish looks more like polished alloy to me. I've had my steering pump bracket, my Tony Hart alternator brackets and my tail pipes done and I'm pleased with the results, cheaper than chroming but still quite pricey as I think they have to powder coat twice, once with the silver and then again with the clear.

Thanks Dave, I already have my power steering pump bracket chromed, will get the pump housing done at some point, don't like taking the car off the road though. The parts I'm sending away on Friday are spares so the car stays drivable.
