I changed over to synthetic a couple of years ago aftergetting fedup with one of the rear slave cylinders seizing up every winter. It also coincided with a master cylinder leak which obviously needed fixing - new seals. One new slave on the rear.
In for a penny in for a pound,I also changed the flexible hoses for braided whilst the whole thing was stripped down.
I made sure the new fluid came through the system and out of all the bleed screws before tighening them in order to ensure 99.9% of the old fluid was removed. However, I did not change the seals on the remaining rear cylinder or either of the front calipers.
I've had no problems since, with no more seizing of the rears and no issue with seals.
Armed with this new confidence I also changed the clutch fluid when I replaced the clutch later the same year - straight swap.
