A few guys have done the RBRR in a Stag with no issues .

It's something I have been meaning to do for a while. From a chap who has done it quite a few times (and is known in the Club Triumph circles) he was saying that you need 2 people as a minimum, but that 3 people make life alot easier (resting/splitting the driving etc.).

      Hi Peter

yes I have done it twice, once in my Spitfire 1500 3 years ago, and last year in the Stag. Both journey's completed with no real issues, other than an alternator change in the Spitfire in a rainstorm entering Cornwall, and a driveshaft vibration at the legal limit in the Stag (now sorted). It was much easier in the Stag, not surprising really, but a lot more fuel was consumed!

Its a great experience, with great camaraderie between all the entrants. It is recognised by the classic motoring fraternity as the hardest endurance drive currently run, 2000 miles in 48 to 52 hours depending how quick you do it. It isn't a race as the organisers (Club Triumph) are keen to point out and there are no prizes for being first home. It is also a worthwhile charity run, last years being for Children with Cancer.

There are some interesting statistics on finishing rates by car type on the CT Forum - have a look at the RBRR part of their forum. This section is an interesting read http://club.triumph.org.uk/cgi-bin/f...350985281/s-0/ If your mate has a small chassis Triumph, persuade him your Stag would be more comfortable

Go on - Do it, you won't regret it, but you will get very tired!

        Some photo's - I hope!

This last picture is my Sat Nav display when we got to the finish, 2000 miles exactly!

The 9 Hours stopped were for Fuel, mandatory control stops and two breakfast stops at John O Groats and Lands End.

It's on my list of things to do. Unsure whether I would do it in the Stag or the GT6.

          Cheers

Me too. I'd love to do it, maybe next year if I have enough confidence in the stag - and if I can afford the petrol! (not forgetting the extra 250 miles return trip from Worcester to London)

P.S. Steve, I think your satnav needs calibrating. It says your max speed was 79.8, I'm sure that should have been 70.0!
