    My trip to Ukraine

I had a lovely week visiting friends in ukraine and had thoughts of a cold communist country , we had a lovely stay and was welcomed by everyone we meet . Firstly Trams and a fantastic underground in kiev . Trams are in most towns too .
Most days were in the 30,s apart from one rainy morning . Our friends have a small holding so it was lovely to pick our own lunch. Or maybe some rasberry wine .Here are the cars on our travels. The abulances are kept as every winter brings 6 ft of snow. ww2 trucks on display and my mate spotted a MG ( is this a new model )

      Welcome back Edd,

Some interesting pics there - just don't go getting ideas about fitting bull bars all round to your Stag though

The MG is what is known in the Uk as the MG6 or MG Magnette. It's proved SO popular that they have sold ummm.. well let's say hundreds in the UK. However 'MG's Chinese owners sell it under other names elsewhere in the world, especially China obviously, and they've sold hundreds of thousands there.

      Cheers

      Julian

And I think most of those have been written of by Jason Plato.

If you want to learn a bit about SAIC and its MG Motors UK division, a good starting place is some of the discussions on http://www.aronline.co.uk about the products, marketing and opinions of many...

Interesting link that cjp. I have never liked the look of the "BMW" Mini, having fond memories of 2 Minis I owned in the 60's, but the new model about to be announced is much better looking and more true to the original, didn't know anything about it till clicked on the link and read the report.

I'm just a little sceptical of their marketing exuberance , or spelling , or grammar

              Cheers

When implicit, cutting-edge concepts are embodied in the form of a UK design aesthetic which has retained its popularity for over eighty years, no praises are enough for it.
Fully-body modeling displaying speed and sharpness as well as 0.28 super low drag coefficient brings greater flexibility and speed. Project headlights shine like a pair of lion’s eyes in the dark. A streamlined, diver-style car body looks like a leopard about to strike. It can dash to the opposite end of the world in the blink of an eye.

              • Dynamic double waistline design
              • BRIT-ALLURE Front face modeling
              • Elegant wingspan interior design
              • Jet-type barrel racing dashboard

I used be a big fan of MG's and was into the MGF's big time and had my F featured in a couple of magazines.

I feel MG has lost all that it was about now and cant stand the MG6 or the MG3 - MG's should be sports cars imo

In the mid 90s I had an MGF as a day to day car, one of the early VVC models.

Went like stink and nowhere near as bad as some people warned me about. I prefered the shape to an MX5 and still do.

By God, you think we worry about HGF that Rover K series really did have a poor reputation - and yet I had no problems at all Good luck I suppose.

A few days after buying the TR my wife and I took the two cars out for a spin and comparison. That was the only time my wife drove the TR - never driven it since but that's another story.

                  Regards

                  Peter
