Faulty parts (should I complain )

Hello I am back after a long and embarrassing absence (what do you mean you haven’t missed me?) anyway last January I bought some parts for the on going restoration ,amongst them I bought the anti roll bar links ,I thought Iwould be using them straight away but due to a lot of misfortune I only got around to fitting them yesterday as can be seen from the picture one has snapped and has never been fitted to the car it happened as I was fitting it . Do you think it is worth complaining or is 8 months to long to leave it ?

    Its good to be back

8 months seems reasonable, you wouldn't expect it to fail in service within that time, let alone on the shelf.

      Welcome back John.

At the very least I think you should inform the supplier.

Even if they were fitted to the car only 8 months of use is not good.

Hopefully they will either provide you with a refund or replacement parts.

      Best of luck.

If the supplier is any good they will replace it. If not at least they will be made aware of a quality issue with the bits they are selling.

        Regards

John, welcome back. You should be entitled to a replacement or refund on that, no problem.

Go on John, you're allowed to say nice things, credit where it's due etc. Martin.

Decent bunch of blokes, I'm not surprised they've put it right. Thank for letting us know John. Martin.

Was that one of the SOCTFL rubbers. I've got one that fits badly but everyone else seems to have had good experiences with them... so I assumed it was me that was the problem.
I'm also having to replace the new springs I bought as they are all about 1" too long (and uneven at the back). Retuning items to the UK from down here is problematic though.

hi Nick, yes they are SOCTFL rubbers. it was only one side and as i had the door frames off the car i took the frame with me with rubber still fitted so they could see the problem, Ben fitted the new one there and then so i could see that it was a good fit.
                            cheers joel.
