A Plea From The Next Owner.

We often complain about bodges, by that cursed monster, the previous owner.
How do you suppose the next owner of your car will feel when he finds that you're
care and repair was done using the cheapest parts you can find, and/or using the cheapest repairer ??
Yes I know it doesn't apply to everyone, but reading the forum often shows that too much of it goes on. Have a care, I 'm only the keeper for now, I don't want the next owner cursing me ! When I can't afford something, I wait till I can. Martin.

Could not agree more.

I would like to think the next owner of my car does not find the PO bodges that I have had put right.

To be fair to the PO they may be unaware of the ‘quick fixes’ carried out by their garage and as for parts, currently we are all experiencing poor quality regardless of the price paid.

And who has not done a quick fix fully intending to do the job properly later and then forgetting.

Also a lot of PO 'Bodges' are PO 'Enhancements'.

One that springs to mind is using the hardtop HRW switch to operate the Electric fan overide. Sounds great for the current owner, but the next owner may well consider it a PO bodge, cursing that the rear window won't demist!

I'm sure there are other things like that that occur quite often.

I was going to say that's why mine's painted but glad i wasn't first, but do have to agree with you martin, We will all be PO,s at some time, I have found things from the PO and PPO.

Spot on Dave, another is putting the battery in the hood well, how do you service/remove it with the hard top on ? it's all very well to say I never use it, what about the poor next owner, or the fire brigade that can't get to it.
Agree with you Phil, but there's little we can do about quality for now, so I don't count that as a bodge Martin.

My Stag still awaits restoration, which I shall be doing largely myself. Hopefully, the next owner of mine - if I ever part with her - will curse the fact that the car is so unfeasibly clean and in such fine order that he or she cannot hope to maintain it to that standard! :-b Wishful thinking, methinks...
