    Fuel Tank

    Hi all

Just curious but just bought another fuel tank which I believe came off a 2.5 estate and noticed it has no drain plug, just moulded in with the rest of the tank, although it dips at the point where the plug would be?

    Thanks.

Mine's a '76 and hasn't got a drain plug. I think they were only fitted to earlier cars.My tank's not the original part, but a Unipart replacement, it's still got the part number sticker on it.

Mines a 77 with a replacement tank in 2000. No drain bung either.

I gather the 2000 estate tank is the same except for the filler neck length? Mind you finding a 2000/2.5 estate would be harder than finding a Stag now....

but if you did it would probably be half the price of a Stag one, so worth keeping your eyes open.

I got mine from Chris Witor in Somerset,£62 for a good, used tank, arrived the following day after ordering.Item as described.

I would definitely recommend this supplier although he mainly deals with 2 and 2.5 litre Triumphs he does some stag items.

I have a 2.5 estate and the original tank (1972) had a drain plug. The one now fitted from a 1977 2.5S has no drain plug. I've naever had a bad part from Chris either!

I think this must have been a later tank without the drain plug by what everybodys said.

I must point out that it was £62, vat and deliverywere included in that pricewhich I thought was very reasonable.
