Bearing gremlins strike again, two weeks ago took the car out on a warm and sunny sunday about twenty miles from home rear end of car started to do funny things like it had a mind of its own wobbling about like a flat tyre. We pulled over in a layby but could find no sign of a flat tyre so carried on again, must have been road camber I thought, then the wobbles started again, once again we pulled over and this time jacked car up to see if I could find the problem. Sure enough a knackered offside wheel bearing. after a gentle drive home at 30mph parked car in garage and went up the pub for dinner. following day ordered new wheel bearing and removed hub and drive shaft and next day too driveshaft and new bearing to local garage to do the work. 20tons of pressure failed to shift hub and also bent driveshaft and snaped a chunck of metal off hub flange. Time to find secondhand one on fleabay got a result which arrived today fitted this afternoon and bugger bearing has play as well. Whilst waiting for garage to do there work on original hub decided to make my own hub puller at work from 10mm mild steel plate thought I would give it a go on the new hub, bolted it on and put 1/2" ratchet on end and thought give it a go with only half a turn of pressure hub popped off drive shaft brilliant, now only have to drop it off at garage to do the bearings.

That is one good looking puller. You must have some handy equipment to make that.
We should have an SOC tool bank for stuff like that. -
