    Hood stowage seal and Renovo.....

Has anyone used one of these seals from Tony Hart ? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Triumph-Stag-N...d=p3286.c0.m14

I was about to click on buy it now when i remembered on the forum some time back there was a post about some seals being the wrong profile, hense leaking.

Also i was about to buy some Renovo hood reviver, to re-colour my hood. It is going like my hair grey !!! (wonder if it does hair ! mmmmmh). Has anyone used this stuff ? On the hood that is..

I could spend a fortune on the pute while it is raining !!!!

    Simon,

Renovo hood reviver is good but what happened the last time I used it was that I might have put too much on the brush and it left a horrible black stain on the beige inside as it soaked through. It may be down to the quality of my soft top as I have used it before on other stags and it didnt soak through but do bear that in mind. Also dont put it on ona sunny day as it will dry too quick leaving brush marks on your hood.Ideal place would probably be a garage with plenty of room with good lighting.

I purchased one of these seals, I think it was me who started thread, there appear to be 2 types of seal, one has a flap on top and the one that tony hart supplies has a sloping top to it, according to replies to thread brian turner says that the flappy seal is the correct one, when I queried this with Tony he said that the seal he supplies is a modified one fitted to later Stags, this was the one I fitted as previous experience showed that the flappy peice of rubber starts to break away from main seal.
