I have just had my engine bay painted and am going to fit a new bulkhead insulation pad. I'm wondering if I should glue it, rivet it, or both. The new one seems to have holes for rivets around the transmission tunnel but not along the top. From memory I thought it would rivet along the top, but I think the old one was glued as well. Its away in a workshop so I can't go and see if there whether there are rivet holes in the bulkhead wall. Maybe you have to make your own holes in the pad ?
I'm thinking if I glue it, it's could end up a mess if I don't get it lined up straight away. It could dry while I'm faffing about getting pipes and whatnot through it.
Any advice on the best approach greatly received.
