big bore v small bore tail pipesw

i have to appologise because i am new to stag ownership 3 weeks mine sounds like a v8 but not a proper v8 will a big bore tail pipe release some more of the fantastic v8 sounds and how can i tell wether it is a small bore pipe or a big one thank you in anticipation

welcome aboard mate Nigel ? they do sound great small or big, the small one is not as big as the big one and vice versa lol . sorry couldn't resist that one . there are two common sizes one is only slightly bigger than the o/d of the std pipe and the other almost twice the o/d two distinctly different sounds. of course you can get a custom exhaust made to really enhance the sound if you prefer.

I fitted some straight through silencers recently from Robsport, they've made a big improvement in the sound, some old git at a show told me otherwise today but he's probably a bit beyond life so I'm not too bothered by that.

The subject is a little raw and he doesn't know me, any humour went right by me Steve. The days doing nothing are when I'm working, apparently my "engine is idling all the time" according to the complaint and I still haven't worked out who's starting the car in my absence, or how they are sneaking all that fuel in.

Hiya,

You do tend to find that you hear more when you are outside the car. To really tell what it sounds like you need someone to drive past you in it, or drive through a tunnel - they always sound great!
