engine rebuild ..confused.com

SO...just what should l get for my £3000 (+ VAT) of my hard earned dosh....?
Me thinking l'm paying for a rebuilt engine. ie. new everything.....except the engine block. Then why am l having to pay extra for parts ???

That does not sound right to me. I would have thought that £3K +VAT would at least be a short block rebuild. I know Triumph V8's are expensive but that sounds really really expensive just for labour. Who is the engine re builder by the way.

I would suggest you get in touch with them and ask for a break down of costs sooner rather than later. It will be better to nip this in the bud before it goes too far. Ask why the £3K cost without parts. The Rimmer price for the parts is below. Other suppliers are available and I am not suggesting anything for or against. Just a price check.

I believe Favershams charge £4k+ for a full rebuild inc parts and they are experts, StagnJag will confirm figures.

It seems a lot, but does it include removing and refitting engine and is it a recognised Stag expert doing the job?

I appreciate you may not want to divulge names but what part of the country are they?

I was told by another Surrey area member he was paying £95 an hour at Enginuity a while back. That may have gone up now though.

Well....It seems that it needed sleeves as was over bored etc. It is my fault .....I really thought that the engine was the original and untouched by yank hands as they like to throw in a chevy engine. lol Thanks for al PMs seems im not alone....
