In some heavy rain (standing, soft top on) I found the rear passenger side footwell very damp, and taking the mats out the sound deadening was soaked through. Just can't see where it's coming from. Nothing obvious..

Water ingress - any ideas?

It could be running there from the front footwell. It's kind of downhill especially if you park on a slope. Other places could be the door seals have you checked if the carpet glued to the inner sill is damp? It might also be worth checking the drain tubes behind the B Posts. Pour a bit of water in the top & see if it comes out of the drain tube under the car.

Many soft tops don't cover the gap around the tonneau cover properly, so rain gets into that channel. As Nick says, there are plastic tubes which should drain this water from the front ends of the channel out through the floor. If these become detached, then water will end up inside the car. It is also the main cause of rust in the rear wing/sill seam.Dave
