    Sad Day

Well today I have sold the Stag and is very sad and depressing! The lovely sound of that TV8 as it burbled its way from the house and as it went on up the road is still sounding in my ears.
Its gone to a good home of Stagless Steve who will now have to change his name so look out for it in the Hook area.

I have the chance of a Rover P6 3500S which I owned some 26 years ago so that looks like it will be the new project. First I have the daughters Mini to repair ...well rebuild by the looks of it so that's first.

Can I just say that I will still be on the forum until the subs are due so will still continue to give what gibberish I still have and know about Stags and will of course still be going to the shows and displays.
I would also like to take the opportunity of thanking everyone on here who has knowingly or unknowingly contributed to keeping my Stag running over the last 3 years this forum is just great and should be held up as a standard to which others should be judged.
So before I get all emotional and cry into the keyboard
    Thank you all.

Good luck with your new project Paul. I think the subs are cheap and I'm sure you will miss us how about posting your rover resto on here. We have a gt6 so its seen non stag is accepted. Plus we can tempt you back into ownership someday.

Sorry to hear that Paul, at least it has gone to a good home. Go on, get the P6, you can join those of us with the "wrong" engine - except yours won't be wrong!

        Hi Paul,

I'm really sorry to hear that but completely understand your logic. Let's just hope you buy another one sometime

Do keep in touch, if nothing else I need to let you know how I get on with your Kenlowe. It's all fitted now and I, eventually, found somewhere to plumb it in. The only trouble is that I haven't yet been able to get suitable pipes, but that's on my to-do list before the winter !

All the very best. It's been a real pleasure to have met you a few times and I wish you well with your Rover, but still hope you come back to Stag ownership some time

        Cheers

        Julian

+1 for being a fan of the P6. They certainly have a few quirky features about them.

It is a shame the Stag has gone but it is always great to try something new .

I know exactly how you feel Paul cos i sold my stag last weekend and i had a huge sinking feeling as the guy drove off down the road.
The car has gone to a very good home and i know the new owner will keep it highly maintained but i really am totally gutted.
Some things just cannot be replaced

                    Still crying

Thanks Guys for all the support just feel empty now.Even the car did not want to go today its developed on occasions the Stag tick where the solenoid try's to pull in but does not quite make it, yes I know fit a relay, which was a job I had lined up to do but it was "well it only does it occasionally" and when Steve turned up today sure enough it did not want to start I don't think it wanted to be sold after all the TLC I have lavished on it.

Might have to have a pint or 3.
Just been in the garage and its empty shelves where all the spares used to live.
I will still be around on the forum for at least the next year.
One cheerful light today the post man delivered my Spot Welder I "won" off fleabay all I can say is ..wow it works a treat keep finding scraps of metal and welding them together, why have I never bothered to get one before.

I will keep you all posted.

                        Stagless Paul.
