    Petrol tank

Help.... l've got a worm problem with my petrol tank. Has anyone bought a new one from the bros'. What are the other options ?

There are products out there (e.g. from Frosts) that can line a tank with epoxy resins, it depends on how bad your worm problem is. Don't whatever you do try to weld it.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

I bought one from RB's, had some surface corrosion internally when it arrived.

Ah, heard someone say that they are not as good as the original........is that true. for nearly £400 l want perfection.....
I have the option to take it to a rad repair place for the fixing up. But this rebuild is costing soooooooooooooo much that to spoil it with a naff tank would kill me.

How bad is it? Mine leaked from the seams and I fixed it with the POR15 tank sealant (£50 for all three chemicals used). But have you got actual holes?

yup holes or rather a whole area of weak bits where it sits in the wet boot.

i put spacers under the mountings, so the tank would be a little higher out the way of water if it got in the boot

Hi malc4d, Petrol tanks can be welded, I have repaired a number over the years. It must be throughly washed out and filled with water or flooded with an inert gas such as argon before any welding begins. Cheers Ian A
