Heat Sheld transmission

Is there such a thing as a heat shield for the transmission tunnel if so where is the best place to purchase one thanks. Will

There is a shield that goes in the tunnel,however I dont know where or if you can buy one..
I also dont know if its a heat shield or sound deadening panel..

It was a sound deadening panel only used on MK1 Stags and is no longer available.

I've got one on my rebuild...not sure how difficult it makes putting the gearbox back in.. I'm guessing it won't make it easier...lol

I think it's sound deadening only. Mk1s had it underneath, Mk2s as part of the tunnel carpet. Just to be different, I have both fitted! It didn't make much difference when I removed the gearbox to sort the clutch. It didn't make getting to any of the bolts any harder than they already are. And no, I didn't fix the clutch either, so I've got to do it again. Great.
