Hacked ???

Just opened the forum web page on my I Pad via Safari and got a load of pics and blurb about Syria and the crimes being committed there.
Reloaded the web page and logged in and all seems ok now. Anyone else had any issues? Thought the self destruct thread had actually become reality for a moment but carried out by some hacker.
Puts things in perspective when you see some of the images that were posted, our troubles on the forum seem very trivial now in comparison.

It happens, unfortunately its a pretty much untraceable crime to commit. I have seen it happen even to a local childrens cancer charity website, but as these attacks are automated they are pretty much indiscriminate.

I just noticed some people could post all day, were you all using phone or tablet apps to post?

I did look briefly at the code the hackers had injected but I didn't spot anything that would do anything geographical or discriminate in any other way.

Had the same problem on my previous log-in before having dinner. Now with a full stomach had no problem with this log-in.

Ian they haven't targeted a vBulletin site I use that is Tenerife based, or other Tenerife Forums - see my post on the "Glad to be back" thread.

No I meant I didn't see anything that would mean only some people saw the hack within the UK. I have no doubt they made sure they didn't hack sites in the countries that agreed with them. Once the bot net was set off to probe ip addresses in the given countries then it would be pretty much indiscriminate. I hope Vbulletin has issued a patch as otherwise the bot net will just come back for another go.

I emailed Carl Fuss about An hour ago about the forum being hacked,he got back to me straight away saying we were not alone with this problem and that he had been working on it this arfternoon to resulve the matter(many thanks Carl)

Not sure about all day, but this afternoon I found that if you scrolled all the way to the bottom then our messages were there but in a fairly distorted way. With that, I did manage one or two posts.

I was fairly neutral on the issue but now I think we should bomb Syria.

Saw it all around lunchtime, found the forum links still on at the bottom but still could not post using them.

Haven't watched last night's spoof-umentiary on hackers pulling the power grid plug yet either, but it seems our latest achillies heel is now out in the open - our reliance on the WWW.

Didn't get time to view the hacker's code and when I did, it was all gone. Well done to the Web people for sorting it quickly.
