Inaugural Hough Lunch & Workshop Run Sat 28th Sept 2013 (South Cheshire)

Inaugural (and probably never to be repeated) Hough Lunch & Workshop Run (and if it rains, it might not happen at all)

Calling all that have a free afternoon on the 28th of this month and fancy a trip to Hough, Near Crewe/Nantwich

If we can get a few people interested, then it is a goer. Myself and Bruce are free on the day but we need more than 2 Stags! If little or no response, I will cancel and try again in the new year.

Following on from a suggestion in a thread from a few weeks back, I have arranged for a pub lunch and classic car workshop visits for Saturday 28th September (this month). I have arranged for an informal visit to Dave Gates' workshop to have a look at his customers current classic car restoration projects. A Brucie bonus too, with a visit to Bruce's (Rubce) workshop) to have a look at his nearly completed GT6 restoration project.

Let me know if you are coming so I can arrange to have an appropriate number of bollards in the pub car park.

I have seen the folks/owners/managers involved and the itinery is as follows:

12.00 -12.15ish: Meet up at Hough Common, Cobbs Lane, Hough, Nr Crewe, Cheshire.

12.15ish: Short drive to 'mystery' classic car workshop, any passengers not keen on workshop visit can be dropped off at local antique centre for an hour or so.

13.45ish: Short drive to Elephant at Shavington for pub lunch.

15.30ish: Short drive to Bruce's workshop to have a look at his GT6

17.00ish: (optional) Short drive to mystery photo-shoot with local landmark, a one off opportunity...........

    Cheers

    Hi Keith
Unfortunately my stag is still off the road and is likely to remain so for the next couple of months so I am afraid it’s a no from me but if you keep me informed of any future runs I will join in as soon as I have the beast back on the road

Hi Tony, no worries, come along in either car!

Shall I add you to the list making 5.5 folks?

            Hi keith

Many thanks for organising this and the PM on the topic. Normally, this is right up my street and I wouldn't miss the opportunity for a run out in the Stag, as I prefer to drive it than sit in a field with it. On this occasion, I will unfortunately be in Portugal on holiday on the day, returning on the Sunday. Bummer! So as I can't be in two places at once, I'll have to pass on this one - shame as I would have appreciated the workshop visits.

Hopefully we can meet up on the next run out.

            Cheers

              Hi Gordon

Hmmm, seeing as it is raining here today Portugal sounds a better plan!

I might be able to make this, but will know for sure nearer the time.

Engine might just about have warmed up by the time I'd get to the rendezvous!

                Regards

Hi Peter, I will put you down as 50/50 for now. Re your engine warming up, it is nothing like the recent run out in your TR! The only real mileage is in getting to Hough! Its more of a social afternoon I would say............. but we could always go the 'long way' from Hough Common to the first workshop! I could stretch it to say 5 miles instead of the normal 1

                    Cheers

Bugger, I suppose this means I will have to spend some time tidying up the workshop!

Great stuff Neil, will add you to the 'definites'.

Will any of your passengers require the antique centre option?
