Has anyone used this type of ramp. http://www.restorationramps.co.uk

I am thinking of making my own but if someone has any they want to be rid of.

Hi John. I only have a single and this is an effort to work on the car more easily over the off season.

        Hi Paul,

I've got one of these which I've found really good.

Perhaps not quite so easy to get your car onto but I think they're much better value for money.

        Cheers

Hi Julian. That is the other option I agree. I may be going down that path.

Ideally I would like a 2 or4 post lift but the cost of that is high. I would need to move house. Cost equals divorce I suspect.

Keith's right, it's NOT light, but one man can move it around and store it upright. I've just manoeuvred mine under the back to rip out my rear end

As for "Ideally I would like a 2 or4 post lift but the cost of that is high. I would need to move house. Cost equals divorce I suspect" - SNAP

Hehehe. Hope your rear end doesn't hurt as it is ripped out.
I am going to gently remove my diff and rear suspension also. Oh and the bw35 in order to fit a zf.
A move is on the cards but we need to get the youngest off to uni. 3 years and counting.

And now it looks like I'm going to replace my boot floor at the same time

                  Cheers

That's a Stag for you. I sat in mine on Sunday and made a to do list. It's really long but all do able. Just takes time and enthusiasm. Good luck with your rear end and boot floor. Don't forget to keep a sense of humour.

                    :-)

The mini tilt lift from CJ Autos look like a nice piece of kit, and not overly expensive either. I'll have to check my piggy bank and see if there's enough dosh to invest in one, would definitely be handier than using the four axle stands...

If you do go for one, let me know and I'll give you a few tips as to how to get the best out of it most easily - from hard learned experience

                        Cheers

ps You would need to go for the one they describe as 3in1, not the cheaper one, unfortunately

For the price of these ramps you could buy a two post lift. I know a lot depends on the height of individual garages.

Because I've been looking at buying a scissor lift I've covered a lot of specs on lifts, the floor concrete requirements for many 2 posts is about 8" deep ! My garage is from 1937 and I'm almost sure my floor wouldn't take it.

I have considered removing the wooden centre section from my old Brian James car transporter, but I haven't checked to see if there any crossmembers that would be in the way. Could be feasible though.
