Bonnet Cable Clip?

The bonnet release cable, instead of just passing through the post, the parts book shows a double clip thingy part number 611768 and two washers that an arrow points to the middle of this clip.
Can anybody take a picture and show me whats going on here please and the reasoning?

Never seen one of these fitted. Here are pictures of the arrangement on my old Stag with an additional bonnet release cable fitted on the driver's side. I have the same arrangement on my current Stag.

Ah, now it looks as if the clip does the job of the post in Daves post, I have the post like Dave so looks like I dont need the clip.

Yes you are correct, it's a 1924 V twin 799cc AJS, model D, a popular machine for sidecar work in it's day.
